Prohibition of Forced Labor and Labor Exploitation
The Company strictly prohibits forced labor and labor exploitation in all its activities and ensures that it does not, directly or indirectly, engage in, support, or contribute to any form of forced or exploitative labor practices.
The Company shall ensure that no work is performed under the threat of punishment, coercion, or disadvantage, and that all workers have the right to work voluntarily and of their own free will.
The Company shall not require employees to surrender originals of identity cards, passports, work permits, visas, or other personal documents as a condition of employment.
The Company shall guarantee employees the right to resign freely, provided that reasonable notice is given.
The Company shall allow employees to cease work if they experience physical or mental harm or functional impairment that makes it difficult for them to perform their duties.
The provision of labor as a means of repaying debt(debt-bonded labor) is strictly prohibited.
The minimum age for employment shall comply with the legal standards of each country and shall be at or above the age at which compulsory education is completed. In all cases, this age shall be no less than 15 years.
In countries with lower levels of economic development, a minimum employment age of 14 may be permitted. In such cases, education and development appropriate for legally protected minors must be ensured in accordance with applicable laws.
Workplaces that set the minimum employment age at 14 pursuant to the provisions above shall clearly state the justification for adopting the 14-year minimum, along with their minimum working-age policy in their employment guidelines.
ILJIN Electric promotes human rights awareness among employees through internal campaigns and communication initiatives, sharing policies and best practices related to human rights. Through these efforts, we aim to enhance employee understanding and foster a workplace culture that respects and protects human rights.
ILJIN Electric provides regular training sessions for departments responsible for human rights and labor-related policies, focusing on relevant laws, regulations, and case studies. The training emphasizes key topics such as the Modern Slavery Act, cases of forced labor and labor exploitation, and the legal and ethical responsibilities of the company. Participation is mandatory at least once a year. In addition, ILJIN Electric operates various capacity-building programs to strengthen the decision-making abilities of employees in these departments, enabling them to better understand and proactively implement human rights–respecting policies.
